Privacy
When you request a free resource, the form requires your full name and email address and also records the resource you selected, the page source label, and whether you separately chose to join The Psychology Letter. If you join the Psychology Lab waitlist, the form collects your full name and email address and records the submission as a “Waitlist Inquiry” in the “Submissions” tab of the “Psychology Lab — PDF Subscribers” spreadsheet, so the Lab can contact you about future projects and resources. A waitlist inquiry does not subscribe you to The Psychology Letter. The request is sent to a Google Apps Script endpoint so the selected PDF can be delivered. These submission details are stored in the “Submissions” tab of the “Psychology Lab — PDF Subscribers” spreadsheet, which is currently private to the site owner.
The newsletter checkbox is optional. It is separate from a resource request, and leaving it unchecked does not prevent delivery. If you opt in, you can unsubscribe from future newsletter messages using the instructions in those messages.
When you select “Accept Terms & Cookies,” the site looks up your public IP address using ipify and sends that IP address, the server timestamp, the page path, and this policy version to a Google Apps Script web app. The values are stored in the “Policy Acceptances” tab of the “Psychology Lab — PDF Subscribers” spreadsheet. The Apps Script endpoint accepts requests from anyone and runs under the site owner’s account; spreadsheet access follows the spreadsheet’s sharing settings. These acceptance records are kept for 12 months and then deleted. The acceptance log also includes a brief device summary (mobile, tablet or desktop; operating system; and browser category) inferred from browser metadata. It does not retain the full user-agent string, your name or your email address. ipify receives the connection’s public IP for the lookup; see ipify’s privacy information.
